Sooner or later, you will have to deal with property tax, and all of us probably ask the same question: home much do I have to pay? Gone are the days when you'd have to look up rates for each municipality and property type in Vancouver individually. With the click of a button, you can determine your property taxes online.

We've updated our Property Tax Calculator with 2013 rates applicable for Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley municipalities to estimate your tax payment based on your property type. In addition to providing calculation, our tool describes the entire procedure of determining property taxes in Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley and lists a few tips for steering taxes downward and optimizing your payment schedule.

Please note that different taxes exist for different types of properties. Most of you will be interested in residential class rates, including single-family houses, duplexes, nursing homes, seasonal dwellings, manufactured homes, apartments, condominiums, recreational property, and even some vacant land and farm buildings.

And what can you do if your tax seems too high?
