Stanley Park Pitch and Putt in Details
Stanley Park is the oldest park in Vancouver. As such, it is closest to the city centre. It is a unique environment of fauna and flora, complete with wildlife, many scarce kinds of trees and flowers, extending itself over 400 hectares of carefully preserved land.
The 18-hole Pitch and Putt Course is open year-round. It has no hazards; on the contrary, it features a beautiful rhododendron garden to please all of your senses. The putting green also has 18 holes, but it is open only between July 1st and September 6th.
The Pitch and Putt Golf Course and Putting Green are surrounded by many park amenities including restaurants and a swimming pool.
Active Recreation in and around Stanley Park
Do you think that size matters? Then leave your golf clubs at home and go for a round of lawn bowling. Are you up for more bodily challenge? Stanley Park's athletic fields could be a great place to exercise for your competitions in the beautiful environment of the park. Tennis is omnipresent these days and Stanley Park is no exception here. For the conservative visitors, the Park offers a cricket field as well. That said, we think it is really easy for almost anyone to enjoy their stay in the Park!
If you like water but don't want to get too wet, perhaps the Rowing Club could be the right place for you. And again, if you think that bigger is better, forget rowing and knock straight onto the Yacht Club door.
In addition to recreational activities and sports, Stanley Park often turns into the home of arts exhibitions, open-air theatre shows and talented artists. Are you hosting visitors from abroad? Why not take them to the Vancouver Aquarium or one of the famous landmarks, monuments and sculptures. Families can enjoy the Children's Farmyard and Miniature Train. During the warmer days, the Park's beaches are a good place to make use of the abundance of water in Vancouver.
Parking is available all through Stanley Park for a fee. Nonetheless, the Park is duly connected with the surrounding city by buses, bicycle trails and pathways.
