Do you love the excitement of live concerts? Do you attend shows to support your favourite music idols or to have fun with your friends? In any case, you don't have to worry that you'll lack an opportunity to enjoy that rush of seeing one of your favourite bands, as the second half of 2013 in Vancouver is packed with lots of great performances. Here are our picks for Vancouver concerts that are definitely worth attending in the second half of the year.

Whitesnake

When: August 14

Venue: Red Robinson Show Theatre

Whitesnake Whitesnake

Get ready for some real '80s hard rock action as Whitesnake brings their heavy guitars to Coquitlam´s Red Robinson Show Theatre. The legendary British hard rock band was formed in 1978 by ex–Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, and it still has it. Whitesnake is ready to take Vancouver by storm! Fans can look forward to their biggest hits such as “Here I Go Again," “Is This Love," and “Still of the Night." However, they will also play their new songs from the albums Good to Be Bad and Forevermore. As Coverdale described their latest album,

It has all the classic Whitesnake flavours, but it is very much its own beast. I always say that Whitesnake albums are one large family, that the songs share a common bloodline, and with Forevermore you can hear all the relatives mixing effortlessly in the room.

Tickets have been on sale since April 18, so don´t wait too long and come out and enjoy a genuine '80s rock show with all the glamour — memorable guitar riffs, perfect drums, and of course long hair!

Black Sabbath

When: August 22

Venue: Rogers Arena

This is great news for classic rock fans: just a week after Whitesnake, another great rock legend is visiting Vancouver. The pioneers of heavy metal, Black Sabbath will be touring to support their newest album called 13, which will be released on June 11. Their newest single “God is Dead?", a reference to Friedrich Nietzsche´s philosophy, is a nine-minute epic trip through philosophical hell with Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, Brad Wilk, and Ozzy Osbourne as your guides.

Black Sabbath Black Sabbath

The guitarist Tony Iommi pointed out that the reunion recording sessions have changed significantly since the first Black Sabbath albums, but the new material sounds like the “old Sabbath style and sound.“ He said that this was the right time for the new album, pointing out, “It's now or never. We get along great. Everything´s really good.“ Tickets have been on sale since May 4, and their price ranges between $29 to $139. Black Sabbath with their legendary singer Ozzy Osbourne are back and ready to bring a bit of their hell to Vancouver!

Eagles

When: September 6

Venue: Rogers Arena

It seems like the iconic rock bands have made an agreement that they will besiege Vancouver with their electric guitars and long hair in the beginning of the second half of 2013. The Eagles, who have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, will play their greatest hits — including "Hotel California," "New Kid in Town," "Take it to the Limit," “One of These Nights," and "Best of My Love" — at Rogers Arena on September 6 as part of their tour History of the Eagles, which is a celebration of the release of the band's documentary of the same name. The renowned documentary was released on April 30 and the tickets for the concert are on sale from May 6, with prices ranging from $49 to $195.

Eagles Eagles

Don Henley, singer and drummer, warned in February that the tour

could very well be our last… We're gonna include at least one former band member in this tour and kinda go back to the roots, and how we created some of these songs. We' re gonna break it down to the fundamentals and then take it up to where it is now.

The concert will be a great celebration of more than 40 years of one of the greatest rock bands ever.

Jake Bugg

When: September 27

Venue: Venue Nightclub

The folk talent combines catchy melodies with mature lyrical ability. Jake Bugg´s concerts attract a wide base of fans of all ages and his covers of songs composed by his idols such as Johnny Cash connect youngsters with older fans. Advanced tickets are $15 and available online.

Pet Shop Boys

The English electronic pop duo Pet Shop Boys are releasing a new album called Electric in July 2013 and have announced a tour in North America supporting this album. Our latest album often evolves as a response to our previous album and, whereas Elysium had a reflective mood, Electric is pretty banging! And working with Stuart Price on a studio album is something we have wanted to to for a very long time.
